Amitabh Bachchan has been one of the biggest superstars to hit the movie screens. The man’s fame goes beyond borders, and he has consistently been one of the biggest names in Bollywood and across the world.
The popularity of this mega-star knows no bounds, and Mr. Bachchan, in his illustrious career has performed several diverse roles and has arguably been the biggest name to ever hit the Indian screens.
At over 70 years of age, Amitabh Bachchan still continues to be one of the most active names in Bollywood, and a public figure who is often visible. However, recent reports have been coming out indicating that the star of the millennium might not be in the best of health.
Amitabh Bachchan has been sick, and he has tweeted, making the same official. He was expected to be a part of the Zee Cine Awards 2016 function, where he was scheduled to present Veeru Devgn with the lifetime achievement award.
Veeru Devgn is the father of Ajay Devgn, and one of the most well known action directors in the country, having assisted action sequences in several hundreds of movies across several decades.
“It is not alarming .. but it is and it puts me horizontal, with minimum movement and grief for regretting my appearance at the Zee Awards where I was to present the Lifetime Award to Veeru Devgn, the master action director, producer and Father to our Ajay Devgn,” the Big B further wrote on his blog.
In the absence of Mr Bachchan, the award was then presented by Rohit Shetty, a close friend of the Devgn family, and one of the country’s leading directors, also a major fan of action sequences in his movies.
Veeru Devgn was accompanied by his daughter-in-law, Kajol, at the event, and over the years he, who has been known to be a man of few words, in this moment of extreme emotion had only a courteous ‘thank you’ to say.
Ajay Devgn was not present at the event because he was away in Bulgaria, shooting for his upcoming movie, Shivaay. He congratulated his father via a video message.
Kajol said in a statement, “I was telling Nysa and Yug how much this honour matters. It signifies the hard work and dedication he has put in his work over the years. It is a moment of pride.”
