The Tamasha team has been battling with sea sickness while the shooting and promotion schedules have them going on the high seas for extended durations, off the shores of Corsica. While the mountainous Mediterranean island was indispensable for the dreamy texture of the film, the members of the team have had health issues, which were causing the schedule to suffer.
The Director of Photography is S Ravi Varman, who rose to the occasion and took on himself to keep the show going on. He helped to infuse courage and professionalism into the crew and helped to get the schedule back on track. Reports say that he used the line, “What’s the purpose?” to encourage the crew members to keep working and to wrap up on time. S Ravi Varman is credited with works like Barfi and Goliyon ki Rasleela – Ram Leela and has also won the Filmfare and Vijaya Award for the Best Cinematographer.
Seeing such an enthusiasm on display, the crew members were easily infused with energy, at the behest of S Ravi Varman. So ignoring the unsettled stomachs and the consequent heaving, the team spirit, the team was able to finish the schedule on time.
Tamasha is all set to release on the 27th of November, and is much-anticipated because it will perhaps be the first intense romantic film of 2015. Deepika is a must watch. If the trailers are anything to go by, then this will be a very intense performance of hers. The trailer promises a hyperbolic show of punch drunk love as well as tragedy. The narrative promised by Tamasha is the portrayal of the age-old predicament of doing what the heart wants and what reality and practicality demands.
Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone fans are desperately waiting for the release. Hopefully their patient wait will be more than gratifying.
