However, the superstar is in the news again, and for all the good reasons this time. Shatrughan Sinha and Amitabh Bachchan, who have worked in several hit movies in the past, had a bit of a turmoil in their relationship for a few years, but they have buried the hatchet and have reunited again since quite some time. Over the last few years there have been several occasions where the Big B would be seen together with the Bihari Babu.

A few days ago, Amitabh Bachchan was asked who he would like to see as the next President of India, and the Big B had responded saying Shatrughan Sinha would make a good future president. The Bihari Babu returned the favor yesterday, as he commented – “It will be a matter of pride if Amitabh Bachchan, a cultural icon, is made president of the country.”

The comment came on the eve of the launch of Shatrughan Sinha’s autobiography, ‘anything but khamosh’.  ‘Khamosh’ has been one of the most iconic lines spoken by Shatrughan Sinha across several of his movies and he is still remembered for these lines today.

Sinha was asked if he would be retiring from active politics any time soon, to which he said he has no such intentions and he expects to contest more elections to follow. He commented saying he is yet to see many springs in politics, and that he would be with the BJP, stating that it is his first and last choice. He denied reports of being ignored by the party.

Shatrughan Sinha had, in the past, earned the ire of many BJP leaders and high-command for his views on the modi-led government, as well as for his closeness with JDU chief Nitish Kumar and RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Talking about Amitabh Bachchan, Sinha called him a good friend and a cultural icon of the nation. He is a well-known personality and has a good awareness about several sociopolitical matters across the planet. “Amitabh Bachchan has achieved many a milestone in cultural and social fields and if he becomes president, it will fetch a good name for the country,” said Sinha.
